I am the go-to therapist for accomplished professionals. If you are looking for a personable but results-driven provider with unique insights about the world of work, you found him. Unlike most therapists in private practice, I been providing psychotherapy and executive coaching services within the workplace environment--including university, corporate, and health care settings--for over 15 years. My clients tend to be talented and well-educated, including physicians, dentists, and health care administrators; software engineers, programmers, and IT managers; business, finance, and investment executives; attorneys and HR professionals; and tenured professors, research scientists, and engineers. People tend to seek me out for help overcoming work-related stress, conflict (professional and interpersonal), sudden loss of confidence followed by anxiety, career burnout, relationship issues, challenges with motivation and productivity, and performance-related issues. I am especially helpful to individuals who hope to gain better outcomes in their careers or need to make major decisions about their future. To maximize my clients' outcomes, I have developed specialized expertise in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDRIA-approved), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction including biofeedback. In less technical terms, I'm a really good listener, remember everything my clients say, have a deep toolbox of skills (and a generous spirit to share them), and put those skills to good use in providing clients a great experience and facilitating new insights and solutions. My practice is 100% virtual, and has been for years. I can provide clinical services to anyone physically present in California, and can also provide in-person consultations in Los Angeles by special arrangement.
I help people discover and build on their natural strengths, and to make shifts in their thinking that decrease negative feelings and improve confidence. Essentially, I help my clients expand their thinking, and then design value-based actions to improve their lives. I also use EMDR/ bilateral stimulation to help super-charge strengths and positive thinking, and to reprocess negative past experiences to neutralize their impact on current thoughts and feelings. I view my clients as whole, with all the strengths and intelligence required to improve their lives, and only needing a thought partner/ stimulator and maybe a few tools to succeed.
